After graduating from high school, she left her hometown in Oita Prefecture and joined an agency in Tokyo. While aiming to become a pop singer and receiving voice training, she gained experience in theater and stage performances, eventually making appearances in films as an actress. Later, she returned to her hometown and focused on enka singing after appearing on NHK's Nodojiman in 2000. She performed at local events such as senior citizen gatherings (keirokai) and kayo shows. In 2005, she founded the karaoke school YUKI Music School in her hometown. Around the same time, she competed in karaoke competitions. She won the Kyushu Grand Prix Award at the Daiichikosho All Japan Karaoke Grand Prix for two consecutive years, and came in 3rd place in the national competition. Read more on Last.fm.
