0081
A [ulr=https://https://web.archive.org/web/20220528054744/https://0081.bandcamp.com/album/bioluminescence]25-26-27 Year old (as of 2025) self-proclaimed Shut-in, little is known about him personally beyond sporadic updates across his various online accounts. Best known by the alias 0081, he is a (Presumably) North Carolina-based composer, though much of his identity remains speculative. He is known by those who know him for his hauntingly beautiful instrumentals and intricate sampling work across electronic genres such as Ambient, Breakcore, Jungle, IDM, and Plunderphonics, among many others. In addition to releasing singles, EPs and albums, he has also dabbled in extended scores for later albums, often presenting these as dance mixes. Notably, he contributed a set for the virtual event MECHAFEST, in 2021 under the aptly chosen title MechaFest'21. Other noteable mixes include Dragon's Blood - Anthephoria Mix, slomo2020 mix, NIGHTMAREGARDEN[slimebraineddxmkoremegamix@666bpmA=666hz]00812016-2017 and The Rainforest Many singles and separate albums also appear on what can only be assumed to be Netlabel accounts under collab albums and separate releases. Such as the why is this free? album on the TulTul Records page, Skinwalker on now all we should do is watching world burn while making music collaboration album, the tears of broken hearts and GIVE UP // DRIFTING two person collab albums and born with a broken heart EP where he was a guitarist. Over the years, he has operated under a wide array of aliases, with some lasting mere weeks and others spanning months or even years. Examples include Charlotte, Paro-Asna, Charlotte's Very Own, damn ur eyez, Nyotaimori, DJ tcfvsx dxmtrip 96x144, junkyard underworld, piggu, s17r, slomogirl, slomogirl.webm, slomogirl.sparklegif, DJ Ghost Pirate, ava's breath, and djzerothouzandisovaabeyotch. In 2022, he retired the 0081 Alias, citing the declining quality of the breakcore scene, recently stating: Had to pull out since breakcore got so bad even I don't wanna be part of it ;P. - (Quote taken from official archive bio as of 9/14/24). He has frequently altered or removed albums from his Bandcamp page for years to maintain cohesion, leaving behind a trove of scrapped media, some of which is lost even to him in it's original quality. He now produces under the alias Yin Yang Fish, having previously operated as Polyphemus Moth. His recent work has shifted toward electropunk, darkwave, and other alternative genres, with a focus on both physical and digital instrumental mixes that prominently feature his own vocals and physical guitar playing. He has experimented with similar sounds under prior aliases but seemed hesitant to keep those works on his main page. However, some tracks from these early vocal explorations have resurfaced on new releases under the Yin Yang Fish name. Fun Facts about some Notable Releases: Most early 0081 Albums were made using Audacity almost entirely this stopped due to updates causing the program to lag too much while composing, now mostly Reaper is used. In the now mostly lost 2022 album Aspartame Valley / The Aspartame Diaries, only 4 out of it's 10 tracks were remaining in circulation and now it has been found. The album Jack of Diamonds has had the text above the 11 diamonds on its cover art changed twice since its original release. The EP titled ... was produced in GarageBand Mobile. In the Dragon's Blood - Anthephoria Mix There is a section at 26:00 minutes with an unknown track that has the same Crystal Castles sample as prey from the removed menu ep. At least 8 full releases have never received an official upload to the Archive after their initial creation/removal/renaming, though they can be found in fan collections or on platforms like Soulseek or through YouTube Reuploads. The track Satan on the now deleted Impudence EP is the only one to resurface from this EP officially but only as the instrumental portion under the track Pink Sky Memories from the Anthesphoria album. The EP Pressing the button for the rest of your life. is considered by the artist to be his best work under the 0081 alias. Read more on Last.fm.
