DarkeSword

DarkeSword (Shariq Ansari) is an American artist primarily known for writing video game remixes, and is a prominent member of the OverClocked ReMix community. His work spans many genres, including electronic, orchestral, jazz, and world fusion. DarkeSword was heavily influenced by many different kinds of music growing up: video game soundtracks, Indian film music, American movie scores, and classic and contemporary jazz. A desire to improve as a performer when in high school lead him to explore music theory in depth, and he eventually transitioned into composing, arranging, and producing. DarkeSword's original work has been featured in concert in Asia, and he has also directed and contributed to several game music tribute albums and collections as a part of OverClocked ReMix, covering the soundtracks of games such as Kirby's Adventure, Super Metroid, Final Fantasy V, the Smash Bros. series, and the Mega Man series.
