Drokas
Drokas was born Pedro Miguel Pires Neto on July 6, 1990 in Lisbon, Portugal as the only child of Luísa Pires and Paulo Neto. He performed on several elementary school shows as the main or supporting character which made him want to pursue an Acting career. Pedro made some appearances on Portuguese TV Shows such as Lua Vermelha, Morangos com Açúcar, Voo Directo and several commercials including Hyundai 2010 FIFA World Cup Sponsorship and a worldwide ad for Duracell Ultra Power. On May, 2008 he posted on YouTube his first mashup of two Britney Spears’ hits - Toxic and Gimme More but his most successful one was with Sean Paul’s Press It Up and Pitbull’s I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) which almost reached one million views and was played in some clubs all over the world, just before his account was suspended due to a copyright claim for a video containing Audio-Visual content from a Japanese music video. A new account was created on August 17, 2010 and it’s his favorite place for sharing his work, alongside his official website. The origin of his moniker began when he started gaining popularity and wanted his work to be easily recognized so he opted for a provisory name which mantained till now. Drokas is an abbreviation of Pedrocas, a common nickname for Pedro in Portugal (Peter in English). Read more on Last.fm.
