Kong

1. Kong is an experimental instrumental band from the Netherlands, formed in 1988 as a side project by Amsterdam-based musicians Dirk DeVries (guitar, samples, programming), Aldo Sprenger (guitar), Mark Drillich (bass, programming), and Rob Smits (drums). Their music combines elements of heavy metal, progressive rock, electronica, and avant-garde styles, heavily incorporating sampling and sound effects. The band’s compositions are mostly instrumental and designed for quadraphonic performance, with each member positioned in a different corner of the venue to create an immersive sound experience. Former drummer Rob Snijders later played with Agua de Annique, Celestial Season, and Garcia Plays Kyuss. 2. Kong is a noise rock and punk band from Manchester, England, featuring members from Oceansize, Capulet, and Fi-lo Radio. They have released an EP titled "Led Zeppelin II Rocky III" and have tracks featured on compilations such as DIRTY ZINE’s "Pedestrian 02". Signed to White Drugs, they released limited 7" vinyl singles including "Blood of a Dove" and "Leather Penny" in 2008. Their debut album "Snake Magnet" was released in July 2009. 3.
