Liquido

Liquido was a German rock band from Sinsheim. The group became internationally known for the song "Narcotic," which sold around 700,000 copies as a CD single in Germany. Liquido was formed in 1996 by four friends who had known each other since childhood and attended school together. That same year, the band released the single "Narcotic" on their own label, Seven Music. The idea for the song came from Wolfgang Schrödl, who developed the melody on a Roland D70 synthesizer. The band achieved its first major success in 1998 when Virgin Records signed Liquido and reissued "Narcotic." According to the band, the single sold 700,000 copies in Germany and eight million worldwide. The debut album "Liquido" was released in ten countries and was followed by sold-out tours, awards, nominations, and chart success in Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia. By 2003, two more albums and several singles had been released, though none replicated the commercial impact of "Narcotic." In 2003, Liquido and Virgin Records ended their collaboration by mutual agreement. In 2004, the band obtained new management and a new booking agency and signed with Nuclear Blast, a label primarily associated with metal. The singles "Ordinary Life" and "Love Me Love Me" as well as the fourth album "Float" were released in 2005, but again the success of "Narcotic" was not repeated. The fifth album, "Zoomcraft," was released on March 14, 2008, preceded by the single "Gameboy" on February 22. The singles "Gameboy" and "On a Mission" were released exclusively online, while the album was available in stores. In January 2009, the band announced its dissolution on the official website. In 2019, singer Wolfgang Schrödl, under the stage name Senex, released a new version of "Narcotic" together with Younotus and Janieck, which returned to the charts. The following year, he released the solo singles "Everybody Knows" and "Wake Up." Studio albums Liquido (1999) At the Rocks (2000) Alarm! Alarm!
