Oopart

Oopart, also known as Dan Méndez, is a 26 year old electronic music producer from Asunción, Paraguay. Throughout his life, Dan received the influence of numerous artists and different music genres, which led him to start his career as a producer in 2007, composing experimental music under the name "dhane". In 2009 Dan began to compose sounds related to House music. After a year of pursuing such project, Dan decided to give Progressive House a different approach, subtly combining forms of different styles such as Electro House, Tech House, and Trance. Still engaged in such production work and known as Oopart, Dan continues to blend sounds to achieve unique musical patterns. Oopart has worked in collaboration with various artists around the world to create music; Victoria Mussi (Paraguay), Bright Morningstar (USA), DeeJay Matt (Portugal), Paulo Martins (Portugal), DJ G33K (Canada), and Stephan V. Star (Greece), to name a few. His performance has also contributed as soundtrack for audiovisual work such as Teton Gravity's 3D & HD Sci Film "Light the Wick" as of 2010. In the year 2011 Oopart's first EP "The Beginning" was released on stores such as Beatport, Juno. iTunes and many others. Aside from his production work as Oopart, Dan is currently also part of a side project under the name of "illuzion", creating Forward Thinking Electronica along with partner Bright Morningstar.
