Passport

There have been at least four groups named Passport. 1. Passport is a German jazz fusion band formed in 1971 by Klaus Doldinger with Curt Cress, Kristian Schultze and Wolfgang Schmid. Sometimes identified as Klaus Doldinger's Passport, the group became known for combining jazz, rock and electronic elements. A lineup active in 2011 included Klaus Doldinger, Roberto di Gioia, Ernst Ströer, Patrick Scales, Peter O Mara, Christian Lettner and Biboul Darouiche. 2. Passport was a Danish pop group formed in 1973. The band released an initial single under the name Passport and later issued the single "Fed Rock" under the name Shu-Bi-Dua. A third single titled "Change Of The Guard" appeared again under the name Passport. Following the success of "Fed Rock" the group continued as Shu-Bi-Dua. 3. A third group named Passport emerged in 2010 in Atlanta. The group consisted of Collin Gibson, Jawz of Life and Coco Jones, who had been active individually in the local and regional music scene and had performed in venues such as Apache Cafe and the Georgia World Congress Center. They collaborated after meeting at an Atlanta hip hop event and developed a shared sound that combined hip hop and soul influences. Members of the group had prior experience with live performance, recording and production work. The group was occasionally compared with acts such as The Fugees, N E R D and The Black Eyed Peas. 4. Passport was an indie rock band from Melbourne, Australia. Its members were Jordan Clay, Josh Milgate, James Freeman and Benjamin Williams. Read more on Last.fm.
