Primata
There are two different "Primata" bands: 1) Formed in April 2014, Primata presents instrumental rock-progressive music that is heavily influenced by bands like U2, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Mogwai, Sigur Rós, Russian Circles, If These Trees Could Talk, and Pelican. This band is a continuation of the instrumental project idea of the guitarist, Rama Wirawan, which was delayed about two years from December 2011. Feeling unable to realize the idea alone, Rama then invited Rossi Rahardian (drums), Andry Novaliano (guitar), and Agung Rahmadsyah (bass) to form Primata. Together, they successfully managed the birth of composition embryos by Rama entitled "Kupu-kupu", which was released in September 2014, through Bandcamp. This Primata’s debut single received a good response. "Sounds of post-metal style they play are not so deviate from the template of qualified post-metal bands such as Uprising Fomalhaut or Sad Story on Sunday," wrote Raka Ibrahim from Disorder Zine. Unfortunately, the cooperation of Rama along with his three new colleagues did not go last. After recording the single "Kupu-kupu", respectively Agung, Andry, and Rossi took leave of Primata. As the replacement of those personnel, Primata then took Adhitomo Kusumo (bass) and Sofyan Refliyandi (drums). Primata’s latest works can be listened through EP debut entitled “Avani”, which will be released this year. As the first single, Primata chooses the song "Pada". 2) A one-man-band project from Abel Raposo (Hist, Resíduo, Toxxxico), Primata's first track ever, "Vox" was released in the "GREY CLOVER vol.I" compilation in 2022, and then a second track, "Motionless", appeared on the "Then Comes Silence" compilation. Its debut album, "War and Pus", was released in the 1st of September 2023, also on Grey Clover. It's second album is a split release with Herr G meets Fuel2Fight, the second volume of Anti-Demos-Cracia's "idiossINcrasias" series, released in 2025. Read more on Last.fm.
