Profan
1. Portuguese Drone/Funeral Doom band. Initially formed in the late 90's in order to be some sort of Black/Death metal project, Profan goes to sleep for a few years until the awakening in 2004 gives birth to a new monster under the same identity. Profan is no longer Black or Death Metal. It may have Rock/Metal components, but in its core the living essence is mainly made of slow-driven raw sound. Taking some influences of Doom, Drone, Noise or free improvisation, some rehearsals take place, in which some recordings are done. Some are or will be available for free through the Internet, some will be edited in low price items in underground labels. 2. Profan were five young guys out of Leverkusen and sounded a lot like 'Zorn' with a smaller metal edge. In addition they were less theatrical and instead you can find a lot of teenage angst, criticism of society and statements about the situation in Germany and the whole western civilization. They existed in the mid-90's. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
