Surgeon is a 4 piece hard rock/metal band from Philadelphia. The band has been described as “visceral, nihilistic beautifully-executed prog-metal that’s all about “intensity and attitude“*. Black Sabbath , Rush , System of a Down, and the Melvins are all recognized as influences of the band in the sound that makes up Surgeon. Surgeon is currently working on their new record. A sneak preview was aired on 93.3 WMMR for the whole month of June. The full length album is expected to be released this winter along with a video and a tour. The band has been building up their fanbase and following by playing shows all along the east coast. Stemming off the release of their 2008 album Angry Guest recorded by Steve Albini, they have had the opportunity to play some top venues and festivals including the Trocadero, the TLA and the NXNE Music conference.
