Sambalouco is a Sydney-based percussion and performance band that plays a wide range of high-energy samba rhythms. Sambalouco's rhythm repertoire is influenced by the infectious sound of Brasil's Rio Carnival with a funky twist. Its rhythms and songs include Batucada, Samba Reggae, Timbalada, Afro-Samba, Hip Hop, Monsueto, Dancehall and many more. Sambalouco’s hip-shaking grooves come from a range of brazilian percussion instruments such as repinique, surdos, timbaos, caixas, tambourims, djembes, agogo bells and shakers.
