Sedula
Sedula is a folk group of six women who perform songs from different regions of Lithuania. The group value folklore as their cultural heritage, not as a musical relic, but as an ever-evolving creative process,of which each performer becomes a part. Authenticity is not just that which once was,and must be recreated as before; authenticity is also in the here and now. Among the many folk and post-folk groups in Lithuania, Sedula is a bridge between authentic traditional folk, and a new improvisation of creative expression based on folk and folklore. The group prefers vocal music, but sometimes they add ancient instruments to their sound : flutes, kankles, whistles, drums and others. The Sedula outfits, stylised from the dress of the 15th-16th centuries, is one more secret of these women singers. Read more on Last.fm.
