Skubas

Skubas (real name Radosław Skubaja), formerly known as Sqbass and MC Sqbass, is a Polish singer, guitarist, and composer specializing in alternative music. Originally from Lublin, Skubas began his musical journey playing electric guitar in various local bands before shifting his focus to singing. In 2005, he enrolled at the Academy of Music in Katowice, studying jazz and popular music with a focus on vocals. Over the years, he has collaborated with numerous Polish artists, including Smolik, Novika, Envee, Kayah, 15 Minut Projekt, and Matt Kowalsky. His debut album, Wilczełyko, was released on September 11, 2012, via Kayax. The record was praised by critics as a “return to simplicity and authenticity” in Polish rock music. The following year, he received a Fryderyk nomination for Phonographic Debut of the Year and Song of the Year for Linoskoczek. Skubas has performed at major festivals, including SoundCity in Liverpool, Open’er Festival, Malta Festival, and Jarocin Festival. In 2014, he released his second album, Brzask, which reached third place on the Polish sales charts. The album was promoted by the single Nie mam dla ciebie miłości, which topped the [station]Trójka[/station] chart. He continued his artistic evolution with Duch in 2020 and W ogień in 2024, further solidifying his position in the Polish alternative music scene.
