Spezializtz
Spezializtz are a German hip-hop group from Berlin consisting of the rappers Dean Dawson and Harris. The group became known for the tracks "Kennst ja!" (featuring Immo) and "Afrokalypse" (featuring Afrob). Although these releases did not achieve significant chart success, the duo toured extensively throughout Germany. Their debut album, "G.B.Z.-Oholika," was released in 1998 on the major label Columbia/Sony. The follow-up album, "G.B.Z.-Oholika II," appeared in 2000 on the German branch of the American label Def Jam. The album was less successful than its predecessor, partly due to marketing issues at Def Jam Germany and the album’s similarity in content to the first release. By 2002, both artists continued to appear either solo or as Spezializtz on various albums and compilations. With the release of the compilation "G.B.Z. Connectz" in 2002, the group briefly returned to the public eye. In the following years, both members pursued solo projects. Dean Dawson founded the label Streetlife Records together with DJ Desue and released two albums. Harris performed under the name DJ Binichnich and appeared on several releases from the label Aggro Berlin. In July 2007, Spezializtz released their third album, "G.B.Z.-Oholika III."
