There are at least three bands named Spoiler: 1) Dutch stoner rock band 2) Swedish pop band 3) An indie rock band from New York City 1) With the preferences for the music from the first half of the seventies guitarist Sidney de Haan, singer Jascha van Roij, drummer Pekke en bass player Arjen Rienks (ex- 7ZUMA7) start jamming together. The feeling is good and the energy released when they play together is enough reason to start a band, Spoiler. Spoiler is a band with ambitions. So in March 2001 the band head into the studio, under the inspirational guidance of Pieter Kloos (Motorpsycho, Peter Pan Speedrock, 7ZUMA7 and Celestial Season). In the studio The Void they immortalize their ragging, rocking, tearing, sweaty, pounding but above all immensely catchy seventies-rock. The ten tracks are precisely what heavy rock is all about, bundled under the title Mud 'N' Glitter. The debut album is released in November 2001 on the record label Suburban Records. In 2002 Spoiler take part in the Only A Suggestion-tour together with stoner super band Hermano (with ex-Kyuss-legend John Garcia). The tour leads the band through France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany and the U.K. Especially in the two last mentioned countries the band get embraced by the audience. The mentioned single electrifying is a success: the music video of the single is one of the most requested videos on Kerrang!TV in England and Ireland, also MTV2 doesn't stay behind and puts the videos in medium rotation for a couple of months. The band returned to the U.K. in may 2003 for a headline tour with The Black Swans as support act. 2004 brings the album: "the return of king sonic" with much critical aclaim. 2. Swedish pop band that had a few releases at Birdnest Records. 3. An indie rock band from New York City during the early-mid 1990s, featuring Mark C. (Live Skull, International Shades), Lin Culbertson (White Out), Mike Belitsky (The Sadies, The Pernice Brothers). Released one LP, "Crashpad", in 1994 on PCP/Matador. Read more on Last.fm.
