Tinkers

The Honky Tinkers were one of the hottest live acts between 1986 and 1992. Hailing from the Southend-on-Sea area, the band played many hundreds of gigs, from local clubs, pubs and colleges, through to London Universities and venues such as Dingwalls, the Rock Garden and the Town & Country Club. The music started as standard British R'n'B, through classic soul, rare groove and finally hard funk. As the music changed, so did the personnel and band name. Mainly known as the Honky Tinkers, the name changed in 1990 to the HT's, although they were popularly known as the Tinkers to their many fans.
