Victrola

There are two artists who have gone by the name Victrola. 1.) Victrola was also the name of an early 80s minimal wave duo. Little is known about the Italian band, but the synth outfit released one 12’’ record, Maritime Tatami in 1983. A track, ‘Into His Gloves,’ was included on the 1982 Italian compilation "Gathered." One last known track, 'The Mutant Glow,' appears on "Danza Meccanica - Italian Synth Wave 1982 - 1987" Members: Antonio Cuscinà, Carlo Smeriglio, Tobia 2.) Victrola's unusual sampling techniques lead to sweeping, orchestrated short movies of sound, leaving the listener wishing for more.
