Widundret

Widundret is a heavy metal band from Östersund, Sweden. Formed in late 2017 by bassist Anders Eklund and guitarist Alexander Lundgren. The influences for the band is a blend between 70s & 80s hard rock & heavy metal, and modern heavy metal. And the members are coming from the local extreme metal scene. Some of the songs from debut EP 'Unholy' was already written when guitarist Andreas Gustafsson joined the band in the winter 2017. The band tried out diffrent singers and drummers in 2018. Micael 'Miffe' Svan and Johan Åhs joined forces on vocals and drums later that spring. Widundret recorded the EP 'Unholy' in early 2019, with a full line-up. They had their first gig in their hometown in a celler of a local theatre with bands like Defuled, 偏執症者 (Paranoid), Royal Sin and Gut Ripper. During the process of the EP Andreas decided to part ways with the band. And in June 16th the ep 'Unholy' was released. During the summer Joppe joined the band on guitar. Two of the songs from the ep will be featured on different metal compilation albums. ‘Cannibal Apocalypse’ will be on the 7th volume of Metal Hammer Portugal compilation, and ‘Iron Prophets’ will be on german Trveheim compilation.
