marquise
Marquise emerges in the land of the morgadinhas, the tradition of melodic floors from the 90s, hammered tableware and plates rippled by the wind. It all starts with M in the rock sugarcane fields that Júlio Dinis dreamed of, where pretty girls use distortion pedals and criticize liberal ideals - Marquise is Mafalda, Matias, and Miguel times two, like someone looking at themselves in a mirror-eye-eye. Together they make Kurt Cobain's Music, winking at the suicidal geniuses of bygone eras, with a female voice capable of bringing them to life again. In Seattle it rained all year round and the musicians locked themselves in the garage and played. Marquise wanted to be a balcony in Porto, but they covered its open air. Now, armed with a throat, drumsticks and picks, she fiercely attacks the walls to make herself known to the world. The music is hitting hard, open a window for it! Read more on Last.fm.
