stereoForte

Smooth waves of indie pop and a hint of vintage emo make stereoForte sound different from anything you've ever heard before and yet vaguely familiar. Filled with catchy melodic riffs and thick layers of guitars, the vocals shift from dry and thin to softly textured air with lyrics that are immature and careless. Syncopated rhythms groove and twist with the driving bass contrasting against warm harmonic overtones providing a light and semi-somber listening experience. The songs are brief, and offer quick glimpses into a mood of both neutrality and longing. Beginning in 2004, the album "misTakes," was written, performed, recorded and produced all by one person and was finally completed in 2007. Despite being recorded in a modest home studio, the recordings have a surprisingly professional touch. Seemingly defying the laws of physics, the producer managed to play all of the instruments and sing on the recordings by building a system of levers, cables, doorknobs and pulleys along with thread and buttons from a Portuguese military-issue sewing kit. Anecdotally, in 2005, during an exceptionally prolonged episode of insomnia, the producer was able to derive DNA from his toenail clippings and successfully clone a semi-anatomically correct replica of himself in order to record backing vocals . Unfortunately, the clone was burned to ashes after being set on fire in an altercation inside the studio. Luckily, damages to the equipment and public and private lands were limited and no other persons were injured allowing the album to be continually developed at the leisure of the producer.
