Adema is an American rock band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 2000 with vocalist Mark Chavez, guitarist Tim Fluckey, guitarist Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo, and drummer Kris Kohls. The band released its first two albums, Adema and Unstable, before experiencing ongoing internal conflicts and multiple lineup changes. Ransom departed in 2003, followed by Chavez in 2004. Luke Caraccioli became the new vocalist in early 2005 and appeared on the album Planets, but left later the same year. Vocalist Bobby Reeves and guitarist Ed Faris, both formerly of Level, joined the group and contributed to the 2007 album Kill the Headlights before the band entered a hiatus. The original lineup reunited in 2009 for touring, although both Ransom and Chavez left again before new material was recorded. Fluckey assumed lead vocal duties from 2011 to 2017, during which the band released the EP Topple the Giants. Ransom returned in 2013, and Chavez rejoined in 2017 but left once more in 2019. Ryan Shuck then became the band's vocalist, and Adema continued performing and released two singles and a three-track EP before Shuck's departure in February 2024. Following this change, the band signed with Cleopatra Records and completed writing for a new album in late 2024. Recording began in the summer of 2025 at 4th Street Recording with producer, engineer, and songwriter Sevo Navajas for a planned 2026 release.
