CRU
Apeles is the name of the solo project of the Brazilian composer, musician, and singer Eduardo Praça. With nearly two decades of experience and guitar strings broken along the way, Eduardo carries with him a unique artistic journey marked by constant lyrical and sonic experimentation. From the young rocker who wielded the guitars of the iconic band Ludovic, he later revealed himself as a composer and vocalist in the duo Quarto Negro. From 2017 onwards, Eduardo began concentrating his creative process on developing Apeles. In his new solo project, set to debut in early 2024, he explores sounds like exquisite-pop, shoegaze, and disco music, featuring guest musicians from around the world, such as the British rapper Awate and the Italian Colombre. These diverse influences make Apeles a catalyst for different musical and poetic elements. It's a poetic project produced in collaboration with musician Thiago Klein, his former partner from the band Quarto Negro, and under the musical direction of Helio Flanders. In his discography, you can find two albums - Rio do Tempo (2017) and Crux (2019) - along with a series of cinematic music videos, another great passion. With an artistic journey forged by extreme curiosity and extensive research, this kind of experimentation is nothing unusual when you listen to Apeles. On the contrary, it's from this sense of strangeness that the musician continually departs, making it all the more interesting to listen to and absorb. Read more on Last.fm.
