We’ve played together since 1997, and earlier we were a “Сmokie” band. - During this period we participated within CD-project “More Love” (More Kahannia), “Alternative.by” (Alternatyva.by), “Songs of Freedom 3” (Piesni Svabody 3), “Basoviszcza XVII, “Dozen of hits 12” (Tuzin Hitou 12), “I am free” (Nezalezhny Ya). - In 2000 we recorded a promo-album “Free Entrance”(Uvahod Volny), the songs from which were rotated on FM-stations. - We repeatedly took part in Festivals as “Basoviszcza”, “Rock Kola”, played in Minsk clubs and open airs. We travelled round Belarus a lot (Polatsk, Vitebsk, Harodnia, Gomel, Mahiliou, etc.), and were honored to share stages with such maestros as Крама, Ulis, Новае Неба. - In 2006, along with the changes in our ideas, band and sound, we became BAND_A. In 2007 our song “Revolution” (Revaliucyja) was included into the list of the best Belarusian songs at www.music.fromby.net. - In 2008 we presented Belarus within a great open-air festival “Bazant Pohoda” (www.pohodafestival.sk). - In 2009 we recorded an album “Positives” (Pazytyvy) 2) Band_A (free-impro, jazz, avant, alternative quartet) - formed when improvising musicians (Tomasz Gadecki - sax, Krzysztof Stachura - g, Michal Gos - dr, Maciej Szkudlarek - bg) from Trójmiasto (Tricity), Poland, met each other at one of Sopot jam sessions. What initially looked like another purely accidental meeting of jamming artists, having no expectations towards each other, let alone any plans to rehearse or define their future, transformed into a quite fulfilling endeavour with a number of enthusiastically received gigs. First ever was played at Na Siano Sunrise, a non-public summer agro-festival, as referred to by its organisers. This one was released by Na Siano, a sublabel of Nasiono Records, with all its copies sold out at just another gig promoting the recording. On August 11th, 2017, they played at Paszcza Lwa (lit. Lion's Mouth) club in Gdansk. This performance, a pretty expressive, fully improvised chunk of both reflective and energetic music with no prior arrangements, was overshadowed by a much larger act on that evening. Right after the last note of the gig was played, the band, the audience, and other small crowd that rushed inside the venue for shelter saw a storm stronger than anything witnessed for decades by Tricity inhabitants. Only the next day the scale of it was known to have claimed 6 lives and devastated millions of trees in the whole northern Poland. The artists' performance, pretty humble when confronted by the bigger act, was released by Nasiono Records in 2019 as Between wind and forest. Read more on Last.fm.
