Bowsar is an electronic music DJ and producer from Austria currently based in Vienna. He started making music in 2006. Although Bowsar is best known as drum & bass producer, his musical roots lie in hip-hop, downbeat, breakbeat, experimental electronic music and jazz. At the age of 15 he discovered the music of artists like The Herbaliser, Amon Tobin and Up, Bustle and Out. Ninja Tune had a strong influence on his perception of music and inspired him to start his own creative work. Around 2004 he got a hold of his first drum & bass tracks and was immediately hooked. It didn’t take him very long to find labels who would release his music. In 2011 he released his 4-track solo-debut, entitled “Protons EP” on Mindtech Recordings. His 2012 release Blue Noise EP was the first record to attract wider attention and helped him to connect with many other musicians and labels around the globe.
