Lmsym - EP
1.Post-Rock band from San Francisco. Started in a bedroom by Kyle Monday and Jason Perez in 2002, the band grew to an ensemble within two years involving a revolving cast of San Francisco Bay Area musicians. Carta's first album album The Glass Bottom Boat was produced by Eli Crews (of Elephant 6 band Beulah) and features Sarah Bell on keyboards, melodica, accordion, and vocals; Ray Welter on bass, guitar, and trumpet; Kyle Monday on guitar; Jason Perez on guitars, keyboard, and piano; Sonny Culbertson on drums; Jared Matt Greenberg (Charles Atlas) on trumpet, organ, and piano; Sacha Galvagna (Charles Atlas) on bass; and Alex Kort (Subtle) on cello. The album carves out a unique balance between the quiet and the loud, while showing the influence of bands such as Piano Magic, Tarentel, Felt, Mogwai, and Red House Painters. It was released on the UK label Resonant in 2007. Carta's second album, An Index of Birds, features a new band lineup, with Kyle and Ray remaining on guitars and keyboards and Alex on cello, and adding Sacha Galvagna as a permanent bassist, Raj Ojha on drums, and Lorealle Bishop on vocals. Gabriel Coan of the band Continental also contributed treatments on a number of tracks. The album was released by Silber Records on February 16, 2010. A remix of the track Kavan by The Declining Winter (Richard Adams of Hood) was featured on his album Haunt the Upper Hallways. Following the release of Birds, Gabriel Coan (Continental, The Orange Peels, Christopher Willits) joined the group on a full time basis as drummer. The band's 3rd album, The Faults Follow, was released by Saint Marie Records in spring of 2013. 2. Chinese EDM producer from Shanghai, currently living in Hong Kong. Number 73 on DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list in year 2018. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
