Cope was a Christian nu/alternative metal band with a sound comparable to acts such as early Staind. They released their first and only record Something Real c. 2000 via Screaming Giant Records. 2. Cope is an inactive hardcore band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Their 2009 self titled EP release displays a strong liking for fellow Canadian hardcore legends Cursed, as well as dynamic and dark songwriting.The EP was self released on CD format, and released by xTRUEx records on 10 vinyl record. For the 2010 Canadian tour, the band self released a Tape entitled Cancer is a Gift, featuring four songs previously recorded for a collaboration album which fell through, and had no other plans for use. The tape has since become the most acclaimed material the band has released. Cope became inactive following the 2010 Canadian tour, though have never officially called it quits. Members of the band have since moved on to several other projects, but came together in May of 2011 to play the Ghost Throats DIY Festival in Edmonton, AB. Kevin now plays in Book of Caverns and Maus. Matt now plays in Todos Caerán and Language of Zuyua. Nathan now plays in Moons and Language of Zuyua. Durell now plays in Mahria, Falsehood, Dysplasia, and Cygnus.
