A hidden gem in the world of independent music, Coria is set to conquer the music scene in 2010 with the release of her debut album Confessions of a Preacher’s Daughter. This incredible collection of material is the result of countless hours in the studio collaborating with some of the hottest producers and hit makers. The feel of the album is R&B infused with pop & rock hooks and hip-hop influenced beats that when combined with Coria’s soulful vocals and playful lyrics present listeners with a truly unique musical experience. This Songstress/Songwriter was born and raised on the bayous of Monroe, Louisiana, to a strict Christian family. Coria’s father was a minister that sang in a gospel group “The Gales of Joy.” Although he doesn’t sing in the quartet anymore he still is a devoted Minister of God. As a little girl, her mother taught her to play her first song on the piano, and ignited the passion, and from that day on Coria was singing and playing the piano her entire childhood. Growing up in a small town, her mother kept her occupied in the arts from dance lessons, piano lessons, and anything that stimulated her mind. At the age of 16, she moved to Meridian, MS and became involved in the High School Chorus where she was featured to perform for the school and mayor on National Prayer Day. Throughout her teens, she played the piano for her father’s church and sang in the choir and became a member of an organized gospel group called “Anointed Voices.” This is when she developed her songwriting skills writing original material for the group to perform. Although, she was passionate about her gospel roots, there was another calling for her. The Pop-Rock, Dance & R&B worlds were calling her name and she dove in head first. Featuring on several Southern & Midwest artist tracks, and participating in several open mics and even doing back up singing for artist, she was finally introduced to the “originator” of Rock Star. The two collaborated for months, as a result Confessions of a Preacher’s Daughter was created. “I knew if I wanted to be a great artist, I had to put my all into it, and most of all be honest and write about real life situations. Nobody wants to hear about money you claim to have when you don’t. People want to be able to relate to you.” That’s exactly what Coria does. She relates to you in more ways than one, with her classic compilations and playful sounds. She is definitely incomparable and Unique something that the music world could definitely use right now. While touring to support her album, Coria will also be documenting her experiences both on and off stage through her personal Blog and YouTube channel. 2009 marked the launch of the OfficialCoria.com website, featuring the latest news, biography, lyrics, media vault and line of licensed merchandise available exclusively in the Official Coria Boutique.
