‘Alter Ego’ is the first collaboration between Doechii and JT, released on March 29, 2024. The song was first teased on April 24, 2023 with a snippet that was subsequently deleted. The artist previewed a reworked version of the song with a live performance in Los Angeles, during her opening act at Doja Cat’s Scarlet Tour. After almost a year, Doechii announced the launch of the single featuring the rapper JT via social media. The song has been also teased in clubs around the world ahead of the release date. Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, better known as her stage name Doechii (formerly stylized as iamdoechii) was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. Doechii started out as a YouTuber, starting by posting a variety of videos, including vlogs and even some music. She released her first single in 2018 titled Girls and after the success of the first song decided to release the single Spookie Coochie in 2019. Some months after the release of those songs, Doechii's Coven Music Session, Vol. 1 compilation was released. It consisted mostly of previously made short songs that had been uploaded to her YouTube channel. In November 2020, Doechii released her EP Oh The Places You'll Go, which included her breakout hit song Yucky Blucky Fruitcake which went viral on Tik Tok. After some weeks, Doechii decided to release the follow-up single titled What's your name?. In 2021 she released her mini-tape Bra-Less, which included an updated version of her 2018 single, Girls. In 2022, she was announced as part of the XXL magazine freshman class. In February 2025, she won the Grammy for Best Rap Album with her album ALLIGATOR BITES NEVER HEAL. Read more on Last.fm.
