Doechii originally recorded this song in 2019 in her bedroom for her self-released mixtape Coven Music Sessions, but it was not released on streaming platforms until 2025. It samples the 2011 song Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye. It was included on the reissue of her album called "Alligator Bites Never Heal (Extended)". Read more on Last.fm.

Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, better known as her stage name Doechii (formerly stylized as iamdoechii) was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. Doechii started out as a YouTuber, starting by posting a variety of videos, including vlogs and even some music. She released her first single in 2018 titled Girls and after the success of the first song decided to release the single Spookie Coochie in 2019. Some months after the release of those songs, Doechii's Coven Music Session, Vol. 1 compilation was released. It consisted mostly of previously made short songs that had been uploaded to her YouTube channel. In November 2020, Doechii released her EP Oh The Places You'll Go, which included her breakout hit song Yucky Blucky Fruitcake which went viral on Tik Tok. After some weeks, Doechii decided to release the follow-up single titled What's your name?. In 2021 she released her mini-tape Bra-Less, which included an updated version of her 2018 single, Girls. In 2022, she was announced as part of the XXL magazine freshman class. In February 2025, she won the Grammy for Best Rap Album with her album ALLIGATOR BITES NEVER HEAL. Read more on Last.fm.
