In an interview with Revolver Magazine Frankie explains: “The song uses an image of a dog going through life in this typical way - it wakes up and does the same thing every single day. I relate that to how some people live their lives. They think that they’re moving forward but they’re doing the same thing day in and day out. Emmure is an American metalcore band formed in 2003. Originally based in New Fairfield, Connecticut, the group later relocated to Queens, New York. Emmure has released eight studio albums, beginning with an EP titled The Complete Guide to Needlework in 2006. The band signed with Victory Records early in their career. Their debut full-length album, Goodbye to the Gallows, was released in 2007 under the label, followed by The Respect Issue (2008), Felony (2009), and Speaker of the Dead (2011). After fulfilling their initial four-album contract, the band renewed their agreement with Victory to release two more records: Slave to the Game (2012) and Eternal Enemies (2014). In 2016, Emmure ended their relationship with Victory Records and signed with SharpTone Records. Under the new label, the band released Look at Yourself on March 3, 2017, and Hindsight on June 26, 2020. Frankie Palmeri, born in 1986, is the band's founding vocalist and the only remaining original member. His outspoken and controversial presence has been a defining aspect of Emmure’s public identity, drawing both criticism and attention within the metalcore scene. Read more on Last.fm.
