Transmogrify
Formada is a Progressive Alternative Rock band that was formed in 2006 in Spokane, Washington when a group of good friends with diverse musical and artistic backgrounds got together to create the kind of music they'd want to hear. After forming under the belief that a thoughtful mixture of tones, rhythyms, and lyrics, can take the listener on a powerful journey, the natural chemistry of the group led to the exciting and challenging process of chiseling their ideas into their debut album, 'Silent Voice', an eleven track melting pot of each member's unique sensibilities that manages to surprise the listener around every turn. While performing their material live across the local scene, Formada has shared the stage with countless bands of different genres and national acts including Taproot, Earshot, VAST, and Strata. As a testament to the variety and accessibility of Formada's sound, they manage fit right in no matter who they play alongside. Formada's ability to pull the listener in with their powerful and airtight performances has made them a crowd favorite at every single show by always surprising the audience with something different than anything they've heard before. The creative organism that is Formada is sculpted equally by its five members. Seth Mead, the skeleton holding it all together with his thunderous and intricate drumming paints percussive landscapes under Matt Thackeray's Bass, the solid muscle mass and rhythmic powerhouse that drives the music. The skin that gives the organism its distinct characteristics is an interwoven tapestry of complex rhythms, psychedelic atmospherics, and soaring leads provided by the symbiotic guitar work of Max Lathrop and Gavin Griffith. The voice that connects the organism's thoughts to it's audience is Wyatt Wood, a vocalist whose remarkable dynamic range allows him to deliver everything from the most hauntingly beautiful melodies to uncompromising, raw, and visceral emotions that pour out of him on stage. Now, as they begin to near completion on their second and far more ambitious album, Formada continues to evolve their sound and perform their music for wider and bigger audiences across the region, continuing to traverse what has already proven to be an exhilirating adventure.
