Gurdonark actively supports liberal licensing of his work, and encourages and abets remixers, samplers, film-makers and video-makers as part of a sharing culture approach to music. Gurdonark's 2002 first album , released in analog CD form with fellow artist Scott_M, was entitled Vibrating Electric Fields (2002), which explored the musicality of the electric football field. He sold it DIY on eBay, where it found favor with enthusiasts of the vibrating sports platforms, as well as play on the OddMusic radio program and Goo Radio. His second release, Eerie Exchange Prairie Park (2005, on archive.org), combined field recordings of a city park with minimalist dark ambient electronica about the Texas Prairie. He released a series of EPs on the DiSfish Creative Commons collective netlabel, until that label's demise. He co-founded the netlabel Negative Sound Institute with Verian Thomas, which has successfully released ambient-related material since 2007. He remixes avidly and often, catching songs and samples and converting them into soundscapes. He releases remixed songs and constructed samples at CCmixter.org.
