honeydip is an underground Japanese alternative rock band that first formed in 1996. They are known for their rich, atmospheric sound which generally has a shoegaze-center to it. honeydip changed their name to Sugarcoat in late 2002, but eventually ended up splitting all together in 2004 due to personal reasons with 2 of the members Ichihara Eiji and Masato Hayashi. As of April 2024, honeydip have reformed and are active on social media, posting honeydip is not dead. playing reunion shows in Osaka in November of the same year, and Tokyo in February 2025.
