Jahzboo is a lo-fi reggae-hiphop band from Volgograd, Russia. Acting as a sound system the band now includes Konstantin Croc Krylov as a lyrics author and front-man, Roman Zloy Pulin on bass, Peter Petrozza Prima on guitar and Sergey Funky Drummer Gurchenkov on drums. The music is highly influenced by instrumental hip-hop, from Beastie Boys' early works upto Coolooloosh and Soul Cannon. While Roman Pulin being a sound producer tends to move the sound towards more classical soul & funk, Konstantin Krylov is a highly dedicated hip-hop personality of Volgograd with a great fond of old-school hip-hop and rap, both east and west coast. So the final mix is just that. All of Jahzboo's members are well-known on local scene for the past 15 years and did gain a great influence on minds of local music fans by their active work as musicians for numerous bands, i.e., Croc was a leader of Green PeaZ band, one the best known street-core soundsystems and Zloy was a front-man of Noise, a highly appreciated punk group. Their collaborative work began at another significant local music happening named Shpalopropitka Crew which not only shaped the local rap/hip-hop scene, but gained rather great influence and fame as one of the style-makers of Russia South Rap style. Sergey Gurchenkov is also a hip-hop DJ. At some live performances the soundsystem extends its crew with Dmitry DJ Virus Losev and Konstantin Kot Kotov, both of which also took part in Shpalopropitka Crew. The name Jahzboo is meaningless and is a made up by Roman Pulin. He does come up with these kinds of names quite often. Read more on Last.fm.
