Young Love
John & Edward (born John Paul Henry Daniel Richard Grimes and Edward Peter Anthony Kevin Patrick Grimes on 16 October 1991 in Dublin), artistically known as Jedward, are an Irish pop singing duo. Known for their distinctive blond quiffs and unique performances, the identical twins rose to fame in the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009. They released their debut song, Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby), a collaboration with Vanilla Ice in 2010. It hit #1 in the Irish singles chart and #2 in the UK singles chart. They then released their second single, a cover of Blink-182's All the Small Things, and their debut album, Planet Jedward, later that same year. Planet Jedward reached number one on the Irish Album Chart and number 17 on the UK Album Chart. It was also certified platinum in Ireland. Since then, Jedward have toured extensively and appeared on various television shows around the world. In 2011, with their entry called Lipstick, they competed in The Eurovision Song Contest (in Dusseldorf, Germany), securing 8th place. They beat both the UK's entry (Blue) and Germany's entry (Lena) in the process. They returned to the competition the following year with Waterline and performed in Baku, Azerbaijan. After qualifying from their semi-final, they came in 19th place in the grand final. They have recorded four albums: Planet Jedward (all covers), Victory and Young Love (original songs written for them), and their latest release, Voice Of A Rebel (all songs written and produced by John and Edward themselves).
