One Minute Violence
One look at the lineup reveals that these guys are not your everyday industrialists: two manic vocalists, supported by a couple of rampant guitars, a gifted psychopath behind the drums and a seriously dreadlocked electronics wiz have successfully torn up every single stage they have appeared on to date. In a spectacularly short space of time, Limbogott have made a major splash, Europe-wide, with their throbbing basslines, sophisticated electronic sound and mind-blowing, schizophrenic vocals that somehow manage to switch between melancholic ballads and turbocharged screaming barrages in the blink of an eye. In the lyrics department, the band follows a stict no-bullshit philosophy. Limbogott’s sole mission is to energise and enthrall their audiences with their stunning, theatrically morbid and musically delectable performances, nothing more, nothing less. Limbogott’s fail-safe recipe: A unique blend of industrial soundscapes and complex elektro and drum’n’bass grooves that is supported by searing metal guitar riffs and spearheaded by alternately soul and gut-wrenching vocals. The result: an adrenalin-charged musical rollercoaster that remains without equal in Europe. The group’s full-on, trippy psychedelic sound goes straight for audiences’ audial jugulars and just won’t let go. The formidable tonal bombardement Limbogott like to unleash at their live gigs has not seldom driven their vocalists to be point of exhaustion, leaving them just as speechless as their fans. After the individual band members had honed their skills over a number of years, playing in various metal and gothic groups, lead singer Lard Mason brought them all together and established Limbogott in 1999. His vision of a new, intelligent industrial style met with great enthusiasm among the members who had also been thinking along the same lines for some time. The six person-strong lineup is not only responsible for the band’s characteristically sophisticated, elaborate sound but also for a proverbial firework of creativity that, after years of fine tuning, culminated in the next logical step on the ‘industrial evolution’ ladder. Time and again, at numerous festivals (Mera Luna, Wave&Gothic Meeting, Woodstage...) and club appearances in Germany and throughout Europe, Limbogott have demonstrated their ability to reproduce their pioneering sound perfectly on stage. Live audiences are furthermore treated to a visual feast of the band’s black humour, expressed both in the band members’ look and manically charged on-stage performances. How Limbogott should be categorised is probably best left up to the individual. They themselves casually describe their music as “New Level Shit”. But while one can argue over what label should be attached to them, one thing is certain. With their raw energy, dynamic performances and musical versatility, Limbogott have truly taken industrial to the next level and are without match on this side of the Atlantic. Read more on Last.fm.
