Lost Together
While Sheffield once enjoyed its rightful place at the forefront of modern British indie music, the fact remains that in recent years, the city began to rest on its laurels. Thankfully for the Steel City, all of that seems to be changing and its thanks to acts such as lostboy that this is the case. Beginning their life as Exiled, before relocating 180 miles north from their hometown of Bristol to Yorkshire’s most southern city and taking on the lostboy moniker, the four-piece’s two singles (‘Luna’ and ‘Lita’s Place’ respectively) quickly amassed extensive support from tastemakers such as BBC Introducing, something which has lead to the band securing a string of well-received Sheffield shows that have in turn lead to slots at this year’s Tramlines and Y Not Festival. Now honourary Sheffieldians in their own right, lostboy have earned the hearts of their adopted hometown thanks to their brand of emotive, uplifting indie pop and Max’s cheeky, energetic stage presence; his everyman approachability tapping into Sheffield’s indie-pop heritage all the while providing it with a distinctly contemporary twist. There are big things on the horizon for lostboy. Expect them to happen soon. Read more on Last.fm.
