One Simple Trick [Explicit]
There are multiple artists called Lovejoy: 1. Lovejoy are an indie rock band formed in Brighton, England. The band consists of William Gold (also known as Wilbur Soot) as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Joe Goldsmith as lead guitarist, Mark Boardman as drummer, and Ash Kabosu as bassist, with all four also sharing in songwriting. The band was originally named Hang the DJ, later being changed to Lovejoy, after Benedict Lovejoy, a friend of the band. On the 20th of May, 2021, two of the songs from their debut EP reached the UK Top 100 in the Official Singles Chart - One Day peaked at 54, whereas Taunt peaked at 75. Another song from the EP, Sex Sells, reached the chart at 93 a week later. Their second EP, released later that year, reached 12th on the Official Albums Chart, and three songs - The Fall (64), Oh Yeah, You Gonna Cry? (67) and Perfume (69) also hit the singles chart. In February of 2023, the debut single from their third EP - 'Call Me What You Like' - hit 32 in the Official Singles Chart, their highest ranking single at the time, and the EP - released in May of that year - reached 5th in the Official Album's Chart. Since then, one more release of the bands has charted in the UK - their single Normal People Things, released in October of 2023, peaked at 27th in the Official Singles Chart, their highest charted release to date. 2. Lovejoy are a St. Louis-based pop-rock band consisting of members Dillon Friedmeyer on guitar, Jacob Becker on guitar, Tyler Shaw on bass, and Dietrich Plyler on drums. They released their debut single and music video “Bittersweet” on February 14th, 2020. After releasing three more singles across 2020 and 2021, they seemingly broke up, with Jacob and Tyler now (as of June 2025) preforming under the Family Money name. 3. Lovejoy is Richard Preece in collaboration with Ally Board, Keith Girdler and Paul Stewart. They lead a simple life just outside Brighton, England. They released many albums in the early 2000s before taking an extended hiatus in 2008, only now returning in 2022. 4. A fine blend of the grim north and rock and roll movement. Read more on Last.fm.
