Unbroken - Single
Great performances are not born just of great talent; they require a deep camaraderie among the performers. Luma strikes the perfect combination of European creativity and American energy, as four individuals disappear, melding into one cohesive force of rock and roll. Hearing a band on the radio or a CD is one thing, but not many bands can ignite a live crowd like Luma does. And now Luma’s ability as a live act has finally been documented for all their fans, old and new, in their “Luma: Live at the Jazz Lab” DVD, set to be released in the latter half of 2007. Ever since the band’s inception in 2005, the members of Luma have concentrated on honing their live show; and a loyal, growing fan base is evidence of their success. In fact, online readers of the Oklahoma Gazette voted the band as the 2007 Woody Award winner for “Rock Band of the Year.” Between Hunter Goodman’s beautifully melodic vocals, Stephen Collins’ soulful guitar riffs, Marcus Collins’ solid bass lines, and Adam Chamberlain’s raw energy on the drums, each member contributes a crucial and talented role in Luma’s captivating performance. Michael Senior of The Daily Oklahoman writes, “Luma presents a gripping sound and live performance. Luma’s songs have a way of entrancing you and hooking you into the melody and groove.” Luma released their self-titled EP in June 2006, to critical praise and fan enthusiasm. Their first single from the EP, “Lose Control,” was voted into the Top 8 in 94.7 The Buzz’s 2006 “March Bandness” online competition. Drawing from the sounds of Coldplay, U2, Audioslave, Incubus and more, “Luma blends soaring vocals and polished musicianship to weave a complex and transcendent sound – one with an echoic ambiance where guitars flutter in and out, and harmonies gently rise and fade.” (Joe Wertz, Oklahoma Gazette) Early into their musical career, Luma has already shared the stage with some of the best indie acts around, both in and out of state. Thus far, Luma has hit the road throughout the Midwestern region and continues to play for large crowds in their hometown of Oklahoma City. Whether on CD, DVD, or in person, Luma’s music will draw you into a place only great bands can; a place where you lose yourself in the anthem that overtakes and engulfs you. https://root.theworkpc.com/music/preview?img=http://www.myspace.com/lumarock Read more on Last.fm.
