Creativity is man's most extraordinary trait. Both Sean Hugunin and Brad Roberts have chased it from birth. Their lifelong friendship was forged in the fires of art and music, built on the belief that what they are is what they create. Each began studying music and art early in life. Eventually their talent and mutual passion became directed toward a burgeoning spoke of aural creation: MERIS. Armed with a guitar and a drum kit, they began a search for the components that would complete the band - two musicians with similar stores of talent, passion and humor. Next came Eli Atkinson, who brought a bass and hit it to the satisfaction of his new bandmates. The trio quickly realized not only that their playing styles blended together seamlessly, but also that their personalities and passion created a smart, witty and ironic stage presence unique to the metal scene. It is the vision of MERIS to explore the terror and e lation of creation... to express and share their music and ideas with others. The very nature of creativity spawns a pure form of ecstasy along with brutal frustration. The songs of MERIS are written and performed with the goal of extrapolating on this truth.
