There are currently four artists that operate under some variation of the name Man Cub. 1. A solo EDM/Dubstep artist 2. An acoustic folk punk duo 3. An electronic pop duo 4. A hard rock quartet 1. Alec Nerve, known professionally as Man Cub, is an up-and-coming electronic dance music/dubstep artist residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His first single, Above It, was released on Spotify and Apple Music in 2018, followed by many more in 2019 and 2020. Later in 2020 he released his debut album titled Impressions, comprising several previous singles along with many new tracks. Nerve also plans to begin touring at some point in the future. 2. High school musicians Cayce Castelow and Ben Hutson met and befriended Joe Amoury at Virginia Commonwealth University in the fall of 2006. There Amoury expanded Hutson's solo guitar project, known as Mancub, with his experience on the mandolin. They recorded and released an album in 2007 on Valiant Death Records. Unfortunately on May 31st, 2007 the three members all lost their lives in a fatal car accident while traveling on tour. 3. The second ManCub from Denver, Colorado may be best categorized as electronic pop. In November 2010, Alex Anderson & Danny Stillman began experimenting with 1980's analog synthesizers, drum machines and a variety of other newly implemented electronic instruments. The band performed live with a heap of guitar pedals, their real voices, and circuit-bent madness to create a unique experience. 4. The fourth and final group, called MANcub, is a Calgary-based rock quartet. MANcub is comprised of Sean Doherty, guitar, Kevin Ross, drums, Dan Kneeshaw, bass, and Trenton Bullard, vocals. Their debut record, Hangman, was released on the first weekend of June 2015, and it has been described knuckle-draggingly righteous by local rock listeners and fans of the group.
