Dj Maslow was born in The Netherlands ( Groningen ). Since his early years he loved listening to music, taping mixes form Ben Liebrand (a famous dutch dj and remixer in the eighties) and trying to make remixes himself on his tapedeck. From the age of 15 he joined a couple of local radiostations where he hosted his own radioshows. He listened to a wide variety of music, but he especially loved soul and funk artists like Prince, Lenny Kravitz and James Brown. It wasn't untill 1998 when Maslow discovered house music. With a group of close friends he went to parties on a regular basis. He was especially drawn to underground techno parties. In 2002 he and a couple of his close friends started making their own dance music using Reason software. They operated under the name Dutch Dance Connection . Later they went from using Reason to Cubase and Abbleton Live, and the music started to sound more professional. Although lately their coöperation stopped for a while because of other activaties, it is certain that they will team up again in the near future. In 2003 Maslow started to get into dj-ing. He bought a couple of Technics 1210's, a Pioneer DJM 600 mixer and 2 Pioneer cd-players. In October 2003 he was ready to go public with his dj skills. With four friends he started organizing his own progressive house parties in Groningen called Silver City . At first at Club 29, a club which had not yet been discovered by other party organizers, but later they moved to Simplon, because they believed that this location was more underground orientated and better fitted their profile. Maslow invited and played with dutch progressive heroes like Fred Numf, Harry Lemon and Matthew Dekay at his parties. At this moment Maslow is busy further exploring his producer skills. Lately he teamed up with Jos Jacobs and Dj Antiphus. Under the name 3 Up North they produced 2 tracks together which already have been played by Mark Norman and Fred Numf! The tracks are scheduled for vinyl release in Februari 2006. They will defenitly produce more tracks together in 2006!
