Menik is a UK producer based in Brighton who draws inspiration from a wide variety of genres from blues, rock, hip hop, jazz, soul, to latin, house, techno, drum and bass, dubstep and garage. His inspirations take form from his knowledge and deeper understanding of theoretical composition and tireless mastering. Menik is a music insomniac – a fruit bat of a producer – up all night tapping the creative juices the world inspires around him. His music strives to bring something new, always creating something different with a distinctive sound: Warm chords, glowing piano and driving drums with signature analogue sounds and pop arpeggios. Close To You, Menik’s first release, for Lifestyle Records was well received and is testament to the way in which he, as a producer, operates inside his sound conducting the use of rests, staccatos and crescendo like an engineer with a million different levers, Menik pulls the right ones. His sophomore release, Hold Me, is a departure from CTY in a way that is almost wildly unexpected and pleasantly refreshing. Both releases have been well received with CTY making the selection for one of Mary Anne Hobbs shows upon it’ s release. Since these releases, Menik has been offered the opportunity to develop a close relationship as a collaborator and remix artist with Deep Heads, of particular mention is his take on Saffire D’Souls’ ‘Soul Type’, already a classic. Most recently his mesmerising video for 'Our Own' collaboration with Sublok and vocalist Ni Foster was picked up by Deep Heads and showcased by Vice’s channel, Thump.
