MksoLive (often stylized as Mksolive) is an independent Canadian underground rap artist, songwriter, and central figure within the Toronto drill and gangsta rap subgenres. Hailing from the city's West End, he is best known for his grit-infused delivery, street-oriented storytelling, and his deep-rooted personal and professional ties to prominent Toronto rapper Smiley. MksoLive was raised in the Pelham Park neighbourhood, a community in Toronto's West End that heavily influences the lyrical content and aesthetic of his music. He began rapping as a member of the OLN (O-Lane / Overbank Line) collective, a local musical group and street affinity block.He initially gained traction in the mid-to-late 2010s by uploading raw, gritty music videos directly to YouTube and sharing tracks on SoundCloud, mirroring the grassroots digital rise of the broader Toronto drill movement.
