Four musicians from Berlin and a frontman from Buenos Aires – this is Novochild, a rock band founded in 2006 in Berlin. Milan (guitar) and Martin (bass) crossed each other’s paths a few years before 2006, when Leandro, an Argentinian singer, joined them. Hossi (guitar) and Frank (drums) brought a new impulse to Novochild with their addition in 2009. Based in the German capital where they’ve won two prestigious newcomer-band contests, RockTon 2007 and Bands4Berlin 2007, they also tour clubs and festivals in German cities including Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Hannover. Novochild creates music with a great deal of sound variety, having established themselves on the German music scene with their explosive mixture of English and Spanish lyrics, a signature fusion of progressive and experimental rock with pop elements and their unforgettable, energetic live performances. In particular, the singer’s Argentinean temperament and commanding presence on stage set apart the band’s style. Their passion for music, attention to detail and pursuit of clear goals brings the band members together, and this is the formula that gives Novochild their unique identity. In 2008, the band participated in the internationally-renowned Popkomm festival and made their first foray into the international touring circuit, playing in Poland and Spain, broadening their horizons for 2009. This impulse, combined with the band’s constant growth and developing stage presence, resulted in their first great studio project. Between October and November 2008, the quintet recorded their first CD in UFO Sounds Studios (instruments) and Peter Fox Studios (vocals) with producer Shola J. Risch of Room4Sound.
