Kern Vol. 3
There are multiple artists with this name: 1) NSI was a musical project from France, formed by Jean-Philippe Charpentier, who passed away in 1988, at the age of 21. One of his friends, who had collaborated with him on a few NSI recordings, decided to release the unreleased material. M Plays Havoc was released in 1989, but unfortunately never received the distribution it deserves and is now very hard to find. The music is dark, ambient, repetitive, with a ritual touch and a few haunting voices. 2) Max Loderbauer and Tobias Freund, two very experienced musicians, recently ventured upon their first project together - NSI. Non Standard Institut - releasing their first productions on Cadenza Records. Max Loderbauer studied sound engineering, was Germany's serviceman for the Fairlight sampler, toured Europe, America and Japan as Sun Electric together with Tom Thiel from 1990 to 2000. One of his latest projects and releases was Chica and The Folder. Tobias Freund worked as a sound engineer for 18 years, is Sieg Ber Die Sonne together with Martin Schopf (Dandy Jack) and releases projects as Pink Elln, e.g. The Electronic Dreamplant. They are both scientists in sound returning to where they feel most at home in the analog world. Their puristic approach to electronic music is not only very refreshing, but also very pure and sophisticated. Read more on Last.fm.
