There are multiple artists that go by Primate. 1. Primate is the alias for Belgian jump-up drum and bass producer Marcel Matheussen. Growing up with family members including writers, theatrists and jazz musicians, he picked up the early stages of musicmaking at the age of 11. Later on playing allround music at local events and birthdays the like, Primate honed his skills and developed a special taste in electronic music and drum & bass. Widening his spectrum along the road, seeing productions in all genres imaginable, he became more memorable for his screechy basses and hard hitting drums. This would land him his first actual Drum & Bass show back in 2018, thus carving the path to the now indispensable jump-up headliner he is today. 2. Primate is the alias of Joe Vince, an electronic music producer from Brighton, UK. He has released music on labels such as Hospital Records, Night Owl Collective, and VALE, and is also the co-founder of SmallPrint Recordings. 3. Primate is a Hardcore/Grindcore Supergroup including Kevin Sharp (Brutal Truth), Bill Kelliher (Mastodon),Mike Brennan, Dave Whitworth and Shayne Huff (The Despised). Their first ever released material to date is an EP called Draw Back A Stump which contains six original Primate songs and one cover song (Black Flag). 4. Primate was born on 1994, in Santiago of Chile (South America), thier first album was called Primate recorded in 1996 at Rec Studios. Their line up was: Marcelo Aliaga (vocals/guitar), Carlos Cárdenas (bass/backing vocals), Marcelo Pudu- Muñoz (guitar) y Ricardo Portalier (drums). 5. Primate was the original name of the band that went on to become primus. 6. Primate were a UKHC band from Birmingham in the West Midlands. 7. Primate is a rapper from Minneapolis.
