The Baby

Although Samia lives in New York, she spent several weeks in Minnesota finishing "The Baby" in late 2019/early 2020. During this time, she worked with Caleb Hinz, Jake Luppen, and Nathan Stocker, writing and recording several tracks in the process. At the time of the album’s release, Samia had not made any statements about her relationship status, although her lyrics in several tracks hint that she was writing about one. Samia is American singer-songwriter Samia Finnerty (born Samia Najimy Finnerty in Los Angeles on 12 December 1996). Based in New York City, she is the daughter of actress Kathy Najimy, and musician Dan Finnerty of the Dan Band. Performing since she was seventeen around New York, Samia’s musical repertoire shows an astounding variety for her age, featuring poppy anthems, folk ballads, and indie rock jams.
