Shushu is a Chinese producer, songwriter, and singer who first gained attention through her involvement with the influential Shanghai label Genome 6.66 Mbp. After spending a few years in Paris, where she built creative ties with collectives like Abîme, High Heal, and Brussels-based ISENGARD , she’s continued to shape a sound that blends fragility with distortion. Her music draws from a wide range of references, from Don Hertzfeldt’s surreal animations to the emotional haze of Lil Peep, often unfolding in dreamy, bittersweet tones rooted in childhood memory. She also makes DJ mixes under the moniker shu². Now part of a growing network of Chinese artists creating across borders, Shushu moves between softness and intensity with ease, building a world where vulnerability, texture, and sincerity take the lead.
